This
large medical practice had outgrown the practice manager
(a family relative of one of the physicians), but the
partners were not sure if that was the case. By giving
the practice "a physical" and assessing the
skills and personal traits of the practice manager,
it was determined that future growth of the practice
would be at great risk if a more experienced and professional
leader were not put in charge. After conducting an extensive
search, interview and assessment process, a new practice
manager was recruited. The former practice manager was
successfully integrated into a role more suited to their
interests and abilities. The result is that the practice
has grown to be one of the most successful in the area
in its specialty.
